The Lady Tigers 14U softball team finished runner up in the HCGFL tournament on Wednesday evening. After eliminating Arlington and Liberty Benton early in the tournament, the Lady Tigers were knocked into the losers’ bracket by the Fostoria Lady Lightning in a tough 5-2 loss. In that game the Tigers gave up all 5 runs in the first inning but just couldn’t close the gap on the Lightning.

After a long weekend layoff, the Tigers came back on Tuesday to face a very tough Findlay team. In a marathon game that went 12 innings, there 6 lead changes and 3 double plays and a 7-6 North Baltimore victory. But the night wasn’t over

for the Lady Tigers.

Following a 15 minute break, it was back onto the field once again, to face the Fostoria Lady lightning. The Tigers quickly fell behind 2-0 in the first inning, but in their usual fashion they battled back into a 4-3 lead by the end of the fourth inning. the game was postponed following the 4th inning because of darkness and would be completed the next evening.

When the Lady Tigers returned to complete the game on Wednesday, the Tigers bats had gone cold! The Lightning were quick to strike, scoring 2 runs in both the fifth and sixth innings, to secure the 7-4 victory. This ended the Tigers hopes of a championship.
