Whether you are a die hard GOST (Good Ol' Summertime) Fan or "new" blood Summer Fest fan, next weekend is BIG for North Baltimore.
It all starts Friday Night with the NBHS Alumni Dinner at the American Legion, over 160 grads, guests and former teachers will reminisce about their Good Old Days at NBHS. On Friday afternoon, tours are being offered through the old Main Building on South Second Street. This building will either be completely razed, or sold, maybe partially razed and "saving" portions. NBHS's Old Main Building will change forever, sometime in late 2012, with the completion of the NEW North Baltimore High School. Completion is estimated for the Spring of 2012.
For information on the tours or the Alumni Dinner, contact Sue Miklovic, 419-957-2879. Do not delay, time and seating and space are limited!
Speaking of the NEW North Baltimore High School, there will be a Ground Breaking Ceremony next Sunday, August 1, at 1:30, near the corner of Rudolph and Quarry Roads, where the new Main Entrance will be. All are invited to attend and help NB celebrate another exciting event, that is going to propel our home town into the future!
Now for the BIG EVENT - Summer Fest 2010 in Downtown North Baltimore, Saturday, July 31 ALL DAY and capped off by what is hoped to be one of the best fireworks displays, ever to be held in NB. As long as sponsors, many of which are listed below, come through with their pledges, the Committee and the Chamber of Commerce, hope to "light it up!"
You will find the usual and unusual of a "street fest" with food, games, fun, food, crafts, flea market, car show, pet show, fishing derby, 5K run, food, fun, (probably hot and humid with a thunderstorm that we hope is not a gully washer), entertainment and bands and a Beer Tent. Stay tuned throughout the week for more information!
