The numbers for this current poll have been running very consistent from the start, with Zero% picking the do nothing option (which is not an option according to the state).

16% are thinking it would be best to just sell it, intact, as is (this option would have to assume that someone would want to buy the building and property. This is a "prime" location that would work well for multiple uses, by someone with a serious pile of money and armed with all of the ideas that have been espoused).

26% currently favor just knocking it all down and not messing around with it (this

option would pre-suppose that the property would be sold following razing).

And finally, 57% believe that at least a portion of this "complex" should be "saved" and put into use for various things. (next week's poll will examine which area or combination of areas, should be "saved.")

Officially, a committee will be forming this fall to begin to examine options and the processes involved. The State of Ohio is very specific on what you are allowed to do to/with these old structures. One would think that with the movement for going GREEN, that knocking it down would be a last choice. The building would appear to be a perfectly viable, albeit in need of some updates. "They don't build them like this anymore," is certainly true (we were going to duck and cover here if there was a nuclear war!). You would think that it could be put to a beneficial use for the entire community and surrounding areas. But, the key is costs and who is going to pay for what.
