We, meaning sometimes my mother, sometimes the wife, sometime the grandkids, sometimes a buddy, often take cruises out west of North Baltimore to see and photograph the progress on the CSX Northwest Ohio Trans-Ship facility.

Here are some photos that show the progress from the same or very similar vantage point(s). I have taken hundreds of photos, from several locations! I only have time to process and post a very few of what appear to be the "best."


This shot was taken in mid-June - BEFORE - any of the five huge cranes were erected.


This shot was from about the same time, just a different location.


Late June and still nothing is erected. The staging for the assembly of the monster cranes, is crucial to the rapid deployment of the assets. (now see, CSX should hire me as a spokesman!)


A fairly long range view looking west. You can see the Hancock Wood Sub-station to the left. The new yard lights in the center and some of the new signal towers, to the right, which were erected to control the flow in and out and along the CSX Main Line through NB.


But by July 22, from the same relative vantage point looking west, you can see that the first crane unit is now up and assembly has begun!
