Hello to the thousands of you who are interested in North Baltimore, Ohio & also WELCOME to the millions of you surfing the internet! This is the NBnewsXpress.com. From this day forward YOUR news, information and entertainment choice in the North Baltimore area are never
going to be the same! This is the launch of NBnewsXpress.com. Formally to be known as The NBXpress and maybe called the Xpress if you are in a hurry.
This online newspaper will begin with coverage of the North Baltimore Village Council, Henry and Bloom Township Trustees and North Baltimore School Board meetings. We will become the source for all you need to know about what is happening, what will be happening and what has happened in the North Baltimore, Ohio, and SouthWood area.
The owner, publisher and editor is Jeffrey Paul Miklovic, aka "JP". We are a totally independent operation.
Just a bit more about me and how I can justify calling myself a newspaper operator. My ancestors came to the North Baltimore area in the mid to late 1800's. They worked, had businesses, raised families and generally were very involved in the life of NB. I graduated from NBHS in 1973. Lived in Columbus, Ohio and Tell City, Indiana for a stint in the late 70's. But otherwise, this is my home town! My wife of 34 years, Sue (a Benedict)and I have had our 3 daughters graduate from NBHS. At Findlay College ('77), I was involved in the media and took a news reporting class. I was the editor of The North Baltimore News for several years in the late 1990's. I am a lifer, a townie and I love NB with all her foibles and unrealized potential!
Our priority will be to provide accurate, up-to-date and easy to use calendars and event summaries. You will be able to submit your events, 24 hours per day, 7 days a week! Better yet, people will have access to your information 24 – 7 as well!
Photos will play a large role in our coverage. We'll try to have detailed captions which explain and display life in and around our community, including the good, the bad and the ugly. The schools, our children and grandchildren, are often at the center of many lives in North Baltimore and their activities, whether sports, music, art, scouts, 4-H, and so forth will be shared in detail.
The overall mission is to facilitate communication and disseminate information in and around the North Baltimore community and the SouthWood region. This will be accomplished by personal involvement of the staff, with observations, news reporting and gathering. We will encourage editorial dialog and content. Therefore we want online submissions from YOU, our readers. This will all be delivered digitally, online. Anyone and everyone will be encouraged to make submissions.
As readers will be invited and encouraged to participate in areas that interest and affect them, we will not publish unsubstantiated accusations, rumor, innuendo, profanity, racial or ethnic badgering. The publisher reserves the right to explicitly control and edit any material submitted for publication. Free speech is not free! We are thankful for this, however, this enterprise is a private business and we will take whatever actions deemed necessary and appropriate to protect both our integrity and investment. This may include taking editorial license and publisher prerogative, of which I wield both.
All submissions and ANONYMOUS submissions will need to have name and phone number included for verification purposes. If approved and your content is published, your name and phone will be kept in strictest confidence by me, the editor and publisher.
So, with all that being said, this is going to be a very interesting and challenging adventure for me! You may want to bump up your gigs, throw-down some bandwidth, I hope that WE are going to have some fun!
This will be a work-in-progress, PLEASE - check back every day to see what is new and exciting!
Thank you and I hope you enjoy NBXpress!
