I'd swear that I posted these photos somewhere on The NBXpress on Feb. 22 or 23, when I took them. But according to one of my regular readers and critics, he never saw them. So, I went looking for them myself and never found them! Imagine that, me losing something other than my hair and mind! (I chuckle to myself robustly!)

Anyway, my CSX "contact" at CSX Corporate Communications, never got back to me with the reason for, or the purpose of the "passenger" train, although as of an email February 25, he was checking.

So, I guess I really don't know what the adventure was, although I am inclined to believe that it was a "top-secret" mission by CSX executives to check out the construction at the intermodal yard. Although, with the lights and the big one-way glass on the back of the train, if you saw it, it was hard to miss it!


Been awhile since a "passenger" train blocked Main Street to pick-up supplies.


Interesting that a car named "Baltimore" would be stopped in Downtown North Baltimore.

Does anyone remember back in the mid-80's the train company, whether B & O or CSX, I don't remember, but they wanted NB to invest a chunk of change in a new "covered passenger rail platform?" Seemed to me they promised great things for NB, if we build it, "they" would come! And now, no passenger rail service even runs on the line through NB.

I don't recall who got stuck "winning" the bid to build what today has to be a white elephant. I AM very optimistic that the current developments will be a positve for MY home town. But dog gone it, we have to pay attention and we have to demand complete and honest disclosure from the parties that be!


But, oh by the way, we have 2 of your 3 downtown crossings blocked, hope we don't have an emergency on the south side of the tracks! NB Village Council is considering locating emergency vehicles and personnel on the south side of the tracks.

I also think that someone better look at constructing a foot bridge over the rails in downtown, have you ever seen kids climb through a stopped train - maybe one of these days I'll get photos! I pray my grandkids trust me when I say "they could be killed doing that!" What about yours...
