The North Baltimore Public Library recently was able to replace shelving for the media room to hold DVDs for adults and children. This was possible because of a grant offered by Hancock- Wood Electric Cooperative Operation Round Up.

This as a trust fund set up through the generosity of members of Hancock Wood Electric Cooperative. Members voluntarily contribute to the fund. This particular grant is to distribute funds for charitable purposes within certain guidelines.


The North Baltimore Public library was able to update shelving that is user friendly and easily accessible, enabling the library to showcase the Audio-Visual collections and have room to grow!

The Library would like to thank Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative for their generous award.

The North Baltimore Library not only serves libraries in Wood and Hancock Counties, but over 200 libraries in Ohio. Our library belongs to a consortium that is a part of SEO (Serving Every Library in Ohio) and we share items, as well as borrow items, from member libraries.

A large number of theses requests are for Audio-Visual (DVDs, CDs, Audio Books). Any time you come to library and are looking for a particular topic, the librarians are happy to help you find a book that you might find helpful. If our library does not have that book we can check availability in any of those other 200 libraries. If someone else has the book we can request them to send it to us through an inter-library loans program. When the item arrives you will be notified and can check it out. Most requests take about a week to arrive, unless there is a waiting list. When you are finished just return the book to our library and we will ship it back to its home library. This service is free of charge to our patrons.

Please stop in and check out your libraries’ new and improved Audio –Visual department or let us help you request a book from another library if we don’t have the book you are seeking. We are always looking for ways to improve our library and help our patrons!
