A Downtown North Baltimore "drinking hole" fell on hard times a few years back, one day in 2006, it was open and the next day it was closed. But, the Limbo Cafe will hopefully see new life, thanks to a new owner!

Local lawyer, George Thompson, has purchased the building and its contents and he is working on plans to secure the building and start fixing things up.Thompson said that the liqueur license was not included in his purchase. But he did note that there are liqueur licenses available, if he decides to go that direction.

For now, George would like to begin restoring the interior saying, "it needs a lot of cleaning!" He added, "I just want to get the place back in shape and look at a couple of different options. Maintenance and restoration will be the first order of business. But I plan to maintain the character of the place, the Limbo will always be the Limbo!"

Thompson recently stepped down from the Wood County Park District Director position, after 25 years of service and leadership in helping to guide the park district.

Downtown NB continues to draw investment, with several building owners making capital improvements to their properties, spawning new retail ventures. The village is in the process of acquiring grant funding for transportation enhancements, which will include sidewalks, cross walks, gutters, traffic control devices and decorative and efficient lighting, in a portion of the business district.
