North Baltimore Police continued to be baffled by local residents who continue to leave their vehicles, garages and houses unlocked, when they leave. "Criminals" are taking advantage of these "trusting" folks!

This past weekend more than 40 UNLOCKED vehicles, at village residences, were opened and change, cash and a few other valuable, items were taken.

Police Chief Allan Baer urges everyone to lock up, saying, "These are crimes of opportunity, the perps simply walk down the street, trying vehicle doors along the street or in driveways. If they find an open door, in they go, looking for any sort of change or cash."

He continued, "we need our residents to do two things to slowdown this type of 'crime', one - people need to lock their doors, we're not in Mayberry anymore! Two - be on the lookout in the overnight hours for small groups or even a single person, wandering up and down a street. The Chief added that they are investigating and hope to apprehend those responsible in the near future.
