The Downtown North Baltimore Mural, painted by artist Stephen Muldoon, has been damaged by an errant driver.

The unidentified driver in an unidentified vehicle solidly bumped the walls metal "canvas" leaving an indentation, and scraping some paint.

In an effort to assist drivers in being aware that there is a great big wall located in the area, a bright flood light was installed.


The damages, while not "severe", will require some metal working and touch-up.


The damage is around the mid-point on the wall.


The new light does make the wall glow a bit. We have been told that this type of lighting is temporary until a more suitable alternative can be developed. Consideration is being given to some type of solar configuration.


Some have said that the new light looks like a train coming down the tracks.
