Board Report
January 15, 2013
Marlene K. North, Superintendent
Building Update: All buildings are now locked down, and we are following procedures to have visitors be recognized and questioned before they are allowed access to the building. We realize that it is an adjustment but one that we feel is necessary to ensure the safety of our students.
2013 Tax Renewal Levy:
-
Dollars generated from this levy will continue to pay the operating costs of the school district including utilities, salaries, supplies, technology, etc.
SRO Information County-Wide: I filled out information regarding our SRO for a survey and was given the results for around the county. I wanted to share these results (article coming later) and say how much we appreciate having our SRO in the district.
RttT: We are working on plans to roll out more information on our new teacher evaluation system that will have to be implemented this next school year. In addition, we are working with staff during the upcoming months to review new science and math curriculum standards for implementation next year. Staff will be released for a half day to review their standards and to evaluate the curriculum that will be needed to implement the new standards.
Board Recognition Month: I want to share how much I appreciate working with our board. You are all dedicated individuals who truly care about our children, the school district, and our community. The time and energy you give to improve our schools is so very important. YOU DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Editor's Note: With the "short" month following year-end, there was no Treasurer's Report presented at this meeting.
