On Monday, January 14, 2013 the North Baltimore Lions Club, in collaboration with Dr. David Shilling of Bowling Green, conducted its annual eye screening for the students at Powell Elementary School.

About 130 students were screened to find those who need additional eye examination and care as early as possible.Several students were found to need additional exams and care, and their parents will be receiving a notice of that concern.Parents are urged to follow up with attention to the needs of their children.If additional information or help with this care is needed you are urged to contact the school or the Lions at (419) 957-2113, (419) 889-8925, or (419) 257-4708.

Seven Lions Club members assisted in the screening. Realizing the importance of good eyesight to a good education, the NB Lions Club urges parents and care-givers to aggressively pursue detection and correction of vision problems and stand ready to provide assistance when families cannot provide that vital care.
