The North Baltimore High School Sports Hall of Fame grew by one member this season, with Joe Busch being inducted for his All-Ohio status in football during the 1995 season.

From the script read for his induction: Joseph Busch graduated from North Baltimore High School in 1996. While at North Baltimore Local Schools, Joe played football from 4th grade to his Senior year. During his senior year Joe recorded 83 tackles, 30 for loss including, 23 sacks, which currently stands as the school record.

Joe was selected as 1st team all MAL, 1st Team all Northwest, 1st Team all Wood County, and 2nd Team all State.

Accepting his Award
He was the only defensive lineman that was under 6 feet tall and under 200 pounds to be selected to the all-state team in 1995. That year he was also voted as Defensive Player of the year in the MAL and is one of two players ever from North Baltimore to be listed to the all-state team for football, the other is teammate Kelly Woodruff.

These members of the Hall of Fame showed up to help welcome Joe into the Hall of Fame - Jeff Miklovic, Jim Casey, John Stewart, Steve Wright, Jeff Wright, Scott Hemminger, Marty Gazarek, Jon Eichar, Newest Member Joe Busch, AD Bradlee Rowlinson.
This year a contribution to the Hall of Fame came from Carl Meyer NB '54, in the Memory of Ron Rader NB '54. The athletic department would like to also acknowledge the 2008 Memorial Fund in Ron Rader’s name. These will be a large part of the funding for the new signage.
Donations are accepted to help cover the cost of new picture frames and the plaques. The athletic department will also be using these donations to add signage to the Hall of Fame, as well as adding metal plates to all state honorees.
The North Baltimore High School Athletic Council accepts nominations for the Sports Hall of Fame each summer. Nominations are accepted until early in August.

The induction of the new members takes place during the halftime of a varsity boys basketball game. The North Baltimore Athletic Council appreciates your assistance in this process. Any Questions should be directed to Bradlee Rowlinson, Athletic Director.

Criteria for NBHS Sports Hall of Fame:
No Team or Individual will qualify for the Hall of Fame until five years after high school graduation.
1) Acquired at least one varsity letter in a sport while attending a college or university.
2) Played professional at the minimum of the minor leagues.
3) Named to any all-state team (first, second, or honorable mention) while attending NB.
If the candidate meets any one of the criteria 1-3, the induction to the Hall of Fame is automatic.
4) Outstanding performance during the course of an individual’s career.
5) Outstanding performance over the course of a season by a specific team.
6) Made a lasting contribution to the spirit of athletics while attending NB, since g graduation, or while working for the NB schools.
7) As a community member, worked for the betterment of all student athletes at NB
If the candidate falls under the criteria 4-7, the candidate must receive a yes vote from at least 75% of the North Baltimore Athletic Council members for induction.
