“What Will God Do Next?”
Posting Date: 09/17/2014

A little girl sat on her grandmother’s lap to hear the beautiful story of creation. When she was finished, the grandmother asked, “How did you like that?” The girl answered, “I loved it! You never know what God is going to do next!”

What a wonderful way to see God within the Bible and beyond, and in our daily lives. God is always doing something new and wonderful!

God brings comfort when someone is in pain. Though divine comfort comes from so many different places, and in many different ways, the source is of comfort and love is God!

God grants forgiveness when a person recognizes the errors of their ways, wants to repent, and move forward in a life connected to God. There is tremendous power in the gift of forgiveness. When’s the last time you said to someone the words, “I forgive you.” Better yet, plan now for the moment when you say to someone, “I forgive you.” Let the love of God flow through that blessed sentence!

God grants peace to the troubled soul. This peace comes through the listening ear of someone who truly cares, through a walk in the sun on a lonely day, or a walk in the rain, in a moment of private prayer, in the communion of a morsel of bread and a sip of wine. God grants peace to the troubled soul, a peace which is beyond our understanding, a wonderful, real experience of the presence of God, a connection with the divine when it dawns on you that all will be well. As one spiritual genius (Julian of Norwich) put it this way: “Sin is inevitable, but all will be well, all will be well, all manner of things will be well.”

When we’re in Christ Jesus, all WILL be well. We have daily opportunity to experience divine love, divine joy, divine abundant life, comfort, forgiveness, peace. It’s about to happen again, right in the places we live!!!

And now I wonder: what is God going to do next?

I can’t wait to find out!
