| Lifesaver Award presented to Richard "Nick" Nickols Jr. Posting Date: 02/08/2013 |
It was Saturday, January 12, at 1:45, North Baltimore EMS was dispatched to an NB residence for an unresponsive male.
When the NB EMS squad manned by Katelyn Rothebuhler, Troy Bateson and Luke Swartz and Michelle Swartz arrived they found Richard "Nick" Nickols Jr. performing CPR on his father Richard Nickols Sr. Nick had been performing CPR for 7 - 10 minutes before NB Fire First Responders and EMS arrived. EMT's took over with CPR, needing to administer two electrical shocks, before the patient regained his pulse. It is highly believed that if the son didn't start CPR when he did, his father would not be around today.
