The North Baltimore 8th Grade Girls Basketball team will finish off a great season by playing for the MAL Championship on Saturday at 10:15 at Hopewell Loudon against Old Fort.
The Tigers finished off their regular season last night with an MAL win over Carey 43-22. Leading the scoring for NB was Nora Hemminger with 12, also scoring in a balanced effort were Kiah Powell with 9, Bailey Boyer and Courtney Smith with 8 each, Cassidy Hiser with 4, and Alexis Julien with 2.
The Lady Tigers ended the regular season with a record of 11-4 overall, and were 7-2 in the MAL during the season. The Lady Tigers are 2-0 in MAL tournament play.
The tournament run began with a game against New Reigel on their home court, with the Tigers easily handling the Blue Jackets 43-17. Scoring for the Tigers in this matchup were Nora Hemminger and Kiah Powell with 11 each, Catlin Cook with 8, Cassidy Hiser with 7, and Alexis Julien and Courtney Smith each with 3.
The Lady Tigers started their semi-final game against Mohawk on a mission, jumping to a 16-0 lead after the first quarter, and winning easily 39-22. Scoring for the Tigers in the semi-final game were Kiah Powell with 16, Nora Hemminger with 11, Catlin Cook with 4, Makayla Light and Bailey Boyer with 3 each, and Alexis Julien with 2.
