Do you have a son or daughter between the ages of 5-19 years old? Let us tell you of a wonderful educational and life experience for them. It's called 4-H. Yes, we know that 4-H drums up automatically farm and animal images into your mind. However, let's try to forget that just a second and broaden the field a little.
There are plenty of projects that do not involve animals, farms or require you to move from town to the country. Scrapbooking, woodworking, cake decorating, electrical, art, creative writing, welding, small engines and ATV riding are a few projects your child can take and learn more about.
You also have robotics, photography, rockets, exploring the outdoors, trapping, fishing and even money management. Does this cover it all? Why of course not, home decorating, gardening, laundry (haha, yes... your kids learn to do laundry, consider that a blessing), lawn care, bicycling, genealogy, first aid, keeping fit and a number of projects that cover learning more about the family pets and how to care for them. There are still many more I have failed to mention here.
N.B. Alive N Kickin is looking for new 4-H members, if you are interested please stop by at our next meeting on March 3, at 6:00 pm, at 309 Mitchell Rd., and join us! For information or with quesitons call Mary at 419-721-1436, or text Becca at 419-306-8324. We are always excited to see kids discover and learn about their interests and hobbies.
