North Baltimore Fire Chief Hunker Francisco reported on the air handler fire at D. S. Brown from last week.

Francisco said that the small, but smokey fire occurred during routine maintenance of an air handler - separator. There was accidental ignition of insulation material, it was quickly contained. No damage estimate was given.

The chief confirmed that Bloomdale Fire was called in for mutual aid, as the NBFD "day shift" personnel for our volunteer department is often limited in number, due to work commitments and locales of that work. Francisco said that NB had 6 or 7 firefighters on the immediate response to the scene, with a total of 17 NBFD and about eight Bloomdale firefighters responding.
