The North Baltimore 6th grade girls basketball team won the 6th grade tournament at Patrick Henry this past weekend. After 3 games on Saturday, and 2 games on Sunday, these little lady Tigers walked away with the championship trophies.
On Saturday, their first game was against the hosting Patrick Henry Patriots, and they play solid ball to gain hard fought 31 to 23 victory. For their second game on Saturday, they played Elmwood, and won 28 to 21.
In the night cap on Satuday, NB battled Liberty Center, and even though it had been a long day for them, they played tough for a big victory, with a final score of 39 to 5.
There were eight teams total in this tournament, and only four advanced to competition on Sunday. In the Tigers' first game on Sunday afternoon they played Ayersville, which was a nail biter all the way through, but they came from behind at the end and won 24 to 21, which put them in the championship game.
NB once again met the hosting Patrick Henry team, who was truly out to get NB this time, but the Patriots couldn't hang, and NB came away with the big win by a final score of 31 to 20. Other tournament participants were: Wauseon, Holgate, Miller City.
