 | Dalton, concentration, determination |
Dalton Ishmael, North Baltimore wrestling senior, picked up his first win in the OHSAA Wrestling Tournament in Columbus at the Schottenstein Center.
Dalton wrestled Austin Kuchta from Elyria Catholic on Mat 2, sparring for the better part of a period and a half (official time - 3:43), then taking advantage of a flawed take down attempt by Kuchta. Ishmael turned the tables and quickly pinned the fellow 195 pounder.
Ishmael will wrestle on Friday morning to advance to the quarter finals.

At this point, Dalton appears to have been lifted by his opponent, and you would think that Dalton would get slammed to the mat. But, somehow, as he was dropped to the mat, with his grip, torque and leverage, he managed to work the guy around and pin him within mere seconds.

That's it - pin #153 and moving on in the competition. |
